I started at a new firm and then found out I was pregnant. I told my group superior around 20 weeks. I was so nervous but I felt so much better once I ripped off the bandaid.

I started at 8 months pregnant. I didn’t disclose until right before I started. My firm was supportive and it was no big deal. You shouldn’t feel even a tiny bit bad, and you should tell them whenever you feel ready. They will manage.

I started at 16 weeks. I felt terrible about not telling them before I started, but I also didn’t want to tell them when I was still in first trimester and felt weird emailing or scheduling a call for the news. I told the head of the group/office the second or third week after I started (he was out traveling for work the first week). He was SO NICE. I remember being so nervous about saying something. I practiced it like a billion times (hello anxiety). He was very chill and congratulatory. I told other partners I was staffed on matters with slowly after that. Now I’m 22 weeks and huge, so I’m not really actively telling people since I feel like it’s obvious. I also told HR the second day I started to confirm benefits and everything and asked it be kept confidential.
