Currently 125 with pretty poor benies.
How can I leverage those offers into more comp where I’m at?
When my son was a baby I had to take long lunches so I could pump breastmilk for him (TMI maybe, but true!) It took some extra time and I was usually lucky if I had enough time left over to grab a sandwich for lunch before I had to be back at my desk. I usually had to work late to make up the time I missed at lunch.
He could be bringing some work with him so that he's able to get it done outside of the office. My coworker routinely responds to voicemails from customers when she's away from the office which makes sense because it can get kind of loud here sometimes. So he could be doing something similar to that
Some people are better at managing their time at work than others (not a putdown, my time management "skills" are atrocious), maybe he's just gifted in that way?
Maybe he's using that time to catch up on emails or to work on a project that's due soon. Alternatively, he could be taking a long lunch because he doesn't have anything else to do. If his workload is light, he may not feel the need to hurry back to the office.
If his lunches are super long and he's missing out on office time, he probably isn't getting much done. With how many layoffs are happening nationwide, I would be working my butt off.
I'm that person who comes in late and takes a long lunch. I'm hyper focused when I work and my boss sets easy deadlines so it's never an issue.
