One of my favorite books is How Markets Fail by John Cassidy. It traces the history of modern capitalism and the tussle between Keynesian and Neo Classical schools.

Worked as a paralegal during law school. Passed bar. Current job is offering a 92k salary in an area of law I do not like, like AT ALL.
Applied to a small firm on a whim. Interviewed, LOVED the vibe, the managing partner & associate BUT its quite low 65k..I really could see myself in a place like that but sadly I have kids to support and with the current economy, cannot take a paycut. Feeling like the jobs I like are lower paying while the higher paying jobs are in areas I could care less for.

Hey all, I started this bowl a couple years ago as I got into travel hacking. I going to start regular “referral posts” where everyone can share their referral links to cards, etc. if you’re going to sign up anyway, might as well give someone a referral bonus, right?! Spouse was stuck outside US since H4 stamping stopped by EO. They came here on B2 and have been here some months now. Would you recommend apply for H4 and change status while they are here? Downside is it takes 10+ months and spouse can't leave the country in that time.
Alternative is wait till Jan and see if EO expires and H4 can be stamped back home in a matter if a week.
Thoughts?

I'm a writer, and I've been using AI image generators for a few days now. On one hand, it feels like I could be a designer/AD all of a sudden without learning the craft: just visual concepts and a large vocabulary. On the other, it makes me kind of worried even though my salary doesn't depend on crafting images. What are yours thoughts, creative lot?

Joined Blind over a month ago, and what an eye opener it has been. Tech salaries are insane. Even with the recent tech pull back and layoffs, some of the comps are on a whole another level. Friends in tech say, most layoffs have involved non-engineers (sales,HR, Ops,mrktng etc). Dudes in their late 20s pulling in 350k+. Unreal.

And then I look at my TC/bonus and a sense of disappointment washes over me. Short of becoming a partner, I don't think I can pull these numbers that tech bros post up.
