Once upon a time, thoughtworks was considered a consultancy. A premium boutique consultancy. Now it's hiring another consultancy to understand how it can improve. 🤦.
Nothing wrong in hiring experts when you are going for ipo... That's once in lifetime thing and very niche. Whole lot wrong in hiring a consultancy to ask them to analyse your org and ask them how we can be better consultancy. If you have to hire another consultancy to know how to be better consultancy then... You have already lost. Unless you want to show me how good thoughtworks has been doing lately compared to before... My point stands corrected.
Doesn't AI, AI WORKS 3-3-3 or most recent Agent Works help with this?

Every company does this and it is not unique to TW because consultancies can bring in data and expertise we might not have and there's nothing wrong with getting an objective opinion.. For me what was news and made feel some respect was that leaders themselves had not taken raises and chosen to opt out. I like that solidarity.
Let us dismantle this disingenuous narrative with the precision it deserves.
First, the suggestion that these leaders have "opted out" of raises is a classic piece of semantic sleight-of-hand. For the upper echelons of corporate governance, the base salary is a mere bagatelle—a minuscule fraction of a total compensation package replete with lucrative stock options, deferred equity, and labyrinthine performance bonuses. Forgoing a nominal percentage increase on a salary that already sits in the stratosphere does absolutely nothing to alter their baseline opulence. It is a sacrifice in name only, designed to evoke unearned empathy while leaving their true wealth entirely unscathed.Second, contrast this theatrical modesty with the jaw-dropping profligacy of their itinerary. Traveling twelve to fifteen times a year across the globe transcends the legitimate demands of international commerce; it enters the realm of the profoundly indulgent. Even the most powerful political leaders of sovereign nations—burdened with the immense weight of global diplomacy and statecraft—do not embark on such an unrelenting carousel of international junkets. To claim that a business requires more global perambulation than a head of state is not merely hyperbolic; it is patently absurd. While these executives crisscross the hemispheres—presumably ensconced in the plush luxury of business class cabins and five-star redoubts—the frontline workforce is left to grapple with the grinding reality of inflation. For the average employee, a wage freeze is not an aesthetic choice; it is a financial body blow that directly diminishes their quality of life.We must refuse to be cozened by these optical illusions. A leadership that cloaks itself in the garb of frugality while enjoying a lifestyle of hyper-mobility that would make a globetrotting potentate blush is guilty of rank hypocrisy. It is high time we judge leadership not by the raises they ostensibly reject, but by the disproportionate corporate resources they actively consume.
@Thoughtworks 4, the Sashi Tharoor version of your opinion was interesting to read. :) Anyway, you're right to ask about travels and everything else. But being one of the laypersons myself, I still remain an ardent TW fan and it's the reason I still stay. It's easy to point fingers. All I am saying is, they are in a postion opf power. If they chose, they could have taken a raise. Even a small % change on a huge base would deflate the remaining budget for us lower mortals. That wasn't done. I am grateful for that.
