The goal is to make more money, start putting yourself in a position to be in the next pay band. Start early and be vocal about your goals, more about the title and work, and not so much the salary.

I have actually been looking for new jobs because of this. I am already capped out so it seems like leaving is the only way for me to make more money. And in this economy, I always want to be making more money.

When you say your salary jumped __x, how is that exactly calculated?

Mine was $16k (minimum wage before joining corporate) > $40k (contractor total before getting laid off) > $150k (current FT)?

Is that a 260% jump or 2.6x from $16k to $40k?
And a 375% jump or 3.75x from $40k to $150k?

Or do I calculate it by hourly rate?
