My husband wants to change his career, because he’s tired of his job and wants to live somewhere else. He expects this career change to make more money, but he’d have to not work for a time. I don’t think he fully explored his current options with his major, and I don’t know why he’s so antsy to leave an area with a strong economy. He also has been promoted a few times and increased his salary. I want to leave eventually, but my job locations need to be where there is lots of tech. Thoughts?

Sounds like you need to sit down together and figure out which locations would make sense for both of you.

If you are in Tech there are other cities that could work: NYC, Boston, Chicago are examples

This might be the first of many conversations. That’s a big move, not that it’s not feasible but you really do have to go into it with your eyes wide open. Would a financial planner help ?

I don’t think so as we’d have no mortgage by then. However, if kids seem expensive, he may change his mind.

I was contacted by a recruiter with a job in the EV market, which is something I've been wanting for a while. Im at a comfortable point in my current position where I can do my job very easily, change would mean starting from zero again. What should I do? Any advise?

5th September is my last working day at Infosys. Yoe=4+ yrs
Tech= aws devops
I hold an offer of 18LPA from KPMG with joining date of 7th September. (Wfh)
I applied at Workday on 15th May and went through 7 technical rounds of interview and received a verbal offer letter of 21LPA (hybrid)
Now apparently their technical panel "forgot" about the interview and wants to have a discussion again as 8th technical interview. HR says their joining date will be 19th September.

Should i join KPMG?

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?

Currently working on a three person team in a larger GC group. I lateraled from a different group that did not pay attorneys on an attorney scale. I’m stuck in my old pay scale but have gotten promotions and raises quickly with more on the horizon. A recruiter reached out with a new role for 2-2.5x more than I currently make doing something similar. I love my company and the people I work with but the money isn’t there. Is it worth trying to get a counter to stay if I get the bigger offer?

Hello US fish!
What advice would you give a London-based writer/CD/ECD looking to work (remotely) for US-based clients? I’m relocating to Costa Rica for a few months next year so trying to make the time difference work. I don’t mind what sectors but, ideally, short-term writing gigs. Any tips on approaching clients/agencies? Which recruiters are worth reaching out to or are they all in league with Satan? Should I just give up now and get a job counting turtles? Thx
