My partner and I want kids, but I’m worried about what it’ll do to my earning potential. Have you factored family planning into comp decisions? What changed for you?

We didn't because we didn't plan on having kids, which made my then-girlfriend's pregnancy quite the surprise. We've made it work and I couldn't be happier about the life and family we have now, but I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it's a LOT of everything - time, money, patience, energy. I about threw up when we toured daycares and realized how expensive childcare is. I started looking for a new job the same week and was lucky enough to find one that paid 20% more than I had been making. Even with that extra money, the first year was rough.

You need to make money to have kids, but then you need time to be with your family. It’s anyone with kids who has. Be realistic that one of you might need to take a step back while the other goes forward in their career.

I’m thinking about this too I’m a few more years. I’m preparing it by trying to save up more in order to better provide once I have a kid

A warning, i have been phished through the premise of a job interview.thats definitely a new low from scammers but verify interviews they plucked my info from indeed and through that got my info, when I got suspicious (after it was too late) I called the "hiring company" (was a real company) and they said i wasn't the only one getting duped. I can't believe people are praying on people looking for a job during a pandemic but apparently some ppl have no soul. Just wanted to share and be vigilant

I’ve been struggling with finding the right antidepressant. I started a few months ago but had really bad side effects and stopped (headaches, lethargy, nausea, inability to concentrate). The withdrawal is just as bad. I’ve noticed that I made mistakes when my mind was in a haze and just can’t seem to work. I think I need to find an antidepressant that works for me but I’m nervous it’s going to make work that much harder. Do I tell someone at my firm? If so, how?

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?
