Need suggestions, I am about to go for Paternity leave. Should we need to apply as a separate way or same as sick/casual leave way.
From Next week probably I will go on leaves.
As the layoffs news is worrying me, I didn't checked with my HR and don't want to let them know. But as per my manager(new) she was saying may be we need to apply by following some type of template.

Yes you need to apply from the tool. There u need to mention the start date and end date.that will go through the manager approval and hr approval.
And raise a request from the ask hr where you upload the baby birth document/wife's pregnancy document

I won’t go into the full story, but I can share this: whatever situation you’re imagining, I’ve likely experienced something similar.
I was laid off just 12 days after my baby was born.
They actually waited for me to return before letting me go. Paternity leave could be taken anytime within a year, and I had planned to take it after six months for personal reasons, so I initially took only 13 days.
"My suggestion would be to use your paternity if you have a small doubt that you are going to be laid off."
