How have the skills needed for working in customer support changed over the past decade?

I'd say it has remained roughly the same skillset. just a lot of patience and tolerance for bs lol

Apart from problem solving and a huge amount of patience, the only thing that is now needed and not in the past decade is a bigger understanding of computers and technology I guess

Seems the same to me, but you truly need to be safe and patient because people seem to be really bold. Especially if you're working as phone support.

The number of digital tools we use has grown rapidly. It's not that noticeable for tech savvy people, but my coworkers who struggle to learn new platforms fall waaay behind with every change.
