Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?

Moved to the city about 6 months ago and I’ve been disappointed in my experience. I know the pandemic is playing a factor but I didn’t expect the winter days as gloomy as they’ve been. I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.

I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge.
