You're really taking the whole find the perfect candidate super seriously. I've never spent this much time trying to fill one position
I'm sure you have interview somebody more than qualified. At this point you are your own enemy pick one of these people I know they weren't all trash you let them through on the resume come on now stop making your job harder than what it is
There is no such thing as a perfect candidate, first of all. Secondly, and equally important, something is seriously broken with your hiring approach if you interviewed 27 people for one role.
I am assuming this is your first time hiring someone yourself, or maybe you are still new to the interviewing and hiring process. Because interviewing more than 27 people for one role seems excessive. You are probably make this process a lot more stressful for yourself than is really needs to be. I hope you are at least pretty close to making a decision lol.
If you're the final round interviewer, you shouldn't be interviewing this much. Partner with your recruiter and interview team to stack rank the best 8 and meet the finalists.
I get the frustration, but I’d rather spend extra time upfront than deal with the cost of a bad hire later. Yeah, 27 interviews is a lot (maybe verging on too many), but building the right team pays off long-term. It’s exhausting, but investing in the right fit now saves way more headaches down the line.
