Recently promoted to L5 in Strategy & Ops at Google. Feels like a good time to take stock of my career. I don't think I want to pursue a longer career in StratOps, but would like to stay in Google for the foreseeable future. I like the sound of PM roles (but aware it can be hard to transition / secure a role with limited PM experience). Any advice / opinions / warnings from ex StratOps folks OR folks who work with ex StratOps folks in new roles, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Feeling a little down. Started at big law about 7 months ago. Everything was going so great, basically perfect. I was on a roll. But the last month has been full of hiccups. Nothing super major but like messing up citations, told one shareholder I was leaving early and another stopped by office looking for me and made a deal about it. Had to tell senior associate no to a couple assignments because I am at capacity. I guess I should have known perfect wouldn’t last for ever but 1/2

Question for nephew help-

Has a job offer, told the job offer, he is interested but has 3 other interviews lined up on these dates, and would like more time for a decision to be fair to all. The job offer gave him a hard date of 11/15, but it’s before his last interview.

He likes the company, doesn’t want to decline it, wants to give everyone a fair shot. How can he delicately say yes to the job, and reserve the right for future decline. Without being blacklisted later on by his college.
