Male golfer here. Unfortunately golf is still perceived as a man's sport in many circles of men. For many men, it's a way to get away from their spouse and for "boys to be boys." It's possible that these other men just don't feel as comfortable around you. I wouldn't sweat it! Be laid back, a good sport, and they'll come around.
I play almost exclusively with the guys. I rarely have an issue. On the few occasions I go out as a solo, i can see that the guys are weary, but I usually end up outdriving them and they relax. I also play fast. Check for a local lpga group to join ;)
I think it has more to do with pace of play, skill level and what type of game the other players are playing (competitive match vs hit and giggle.) As someone who’s closer to scratch then a 10 handicap I don’t like being paired with random guys let alone women. It would be best if people were paired by skill level, and maybe you can mention your handicap to the starter and see if they place you within the right group.
If you’re looking for a specific time slot, namely 7AM in the morning, you don’t have many options. Also, I play fast, and not shy to use ladies tee. But I always start thinking about my pace and my score, it gets into my head, and O play worse…
