McKinsey & Company Bain & Company I know I want to be at McKinsey & Company or Bain & Company , and I have done all of the prep work to be successful in the interviews, but I am struggling to actually get an interview. Does anyone have any tips on how to get an interview? Do you need a referral from someone senior? Networking with junior staff and recruiters has yet to be successful.
How do you navigate getting a referral on a platform like this? Genuinely curious on if HR/Recruiting asks how you know the person you're referring, or if they don't care where the referral comes from.
Really interested in a junior PM role at Razorfish. A close friend currently works for a different Publicis org, so not sure if a referral from them would mean anything.
Deloitte GPS Business Analyst vs Mercer Health Consulting Analyst?
Deloitte's offer is 7K more and in a cheaper area. Equal interest in both jobs, slight preference for Mercer for people + culture. Leaning towards Mercer because I graduate in Dec and can start in Jan vs having to wait until next summer for Deloitte + location (although higher COL)
Concerns:
Exit opportunities
Pigeonhole-ing myself into health consulting / How hard would it be to join Big 4 in a year or two if I don't like it
How long does it take to prep for GMAT?

I would like to discuss, but don't have DM privileges. Is there another communication channel you'd be open to?
Get it. Get it. Get it. Get it.
Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it.

It’s the team with the worst culture at s&. I have worked with a lot of teams and DS for eg has so much better culture than PEVC. They have a lot of more of a bro culture than the firm in general. Having said that PwC as a company on the whole has terrific culture and I love my coworkers.
Partners/MDs come in all shapes and sizes. But as I mentioned, there is lack of diversity - it's evident with just a quick look at the photo directory. Many partners only care about selling and not about what that means for the staff who are delivering. If you care for work life balance and mental health / wellbeing, youre not going to find it in FS Strategy.
"Fit for growth" cost transformation is FS bread and butter. Program management is guaranteed. Lots of M&A work - CDD, ODD, Integration planning, Synergy identification/realiziation. Some process design work. Some tech solutioning. There's very little opportunity to choose your projects, and when you do, it things can get political.
Crazy hours, lots of ops due diligence for PE clients.
I work for PEVC and think the culture has been great. Spent some time at another big 4 and feel this culture is MUCH better. Very supportive based on my experience so far.
It’s pretty good. Can DM me to discuss if you like.
Sometimes you just need more likes. Ask for likes, people are usually happy to oblige.
is this a post mba role ? have worked with them pretty closely, good comp, bad work life balance, short due diligence projects mostly; pretty much typical A type personality needed to succeed in the long term; good place if you are ok with the above, don’t expect work life balance. feel free to DM.
Also happy to chat if you’d like

Thanks to everyone for your comments and insights.
Can anyone speak to how much travel is typical at the SA/M1 level in PEVC?
Depends on the project. I travel about 40-80 nights per year.
