Can I add a 7th which is actively freelancing and doing fractional work? That’s where I’m at right now and really enjoying the freedom. It’s more stressful in that the income is less consistent but it’s an amazing option for people if you can land some projects while hunting for next big thing

Yes, freelancing is a great alternative for people who feel stuck.
2. Actively looking because had a great manager just leave to a different company, so keeping options open just in case the transition doesn't go over well.

Seems like this is the best place to be in right now!
I have been looking for a new job for about 8 months now. I hate the company that I work for now but am glad to have a job since so many people are being laid off. I am still on the hunt for something new though.

Same boat!
4. My company restructured (actually, not just a thing I tell in interviews when asked) and I've been unemployed and looking since April. I know they say "job hugging" is a thing right now, and honestly it should be... so if you're unhappy at your job, look quietly.
And if anyone's looking for a Performance Marketing Manager (or Growth Marketing, or Digital Marketing, or Paid Media, or Strategist, etc, etc), I'm here for it.
Was in stage 2 since September 2024 and then entered stage 1 for several months when I got a new manager I loved. She got poached and I'm now in stage 3, quietly panicking to get tf outa here. Terrible timing. Very fortunate to have a job right now, but man does it suck to hate work. I can feel the discontent among everyone who is stuck at a dead end job but can't leave because of the market.
5, so now 4 but sort of also 6. I have 3 months severance and my husband is still thankfully employed (his company ALSO just did layoffs). So I’m not panicky - yet.

Best of luck to you!!
5) 10 days into my 3 month of unemployment. I know this isn't a good time of the year to be job hunting, but actually the competition is going to be ferocious, whether it's now or in Q1 of 2026. Lots of people looking, not a lot to be had.

Those rejection letters are starting to get to me.

2/3 over here. I feel lucky that I think I have decent job security, but I’ve been on some teams lately with absolutely unbearable leadership and I’m so ready for a change. I’ve taken a break from the job hunt because work the last 2 months has been insane, but planning to start back up again in January.
1 for me but know that’s pretty rare right now and I’m very thankful
