Feels like every week there’s a new take on rates—cut them, hold them, hike them again. Meanwhile, regular people are stuck with sky-high borrowing costs.
No trust is in them, because so much of it is always speculation. I am hopeful that mortgage rates will come down a bit, that really is maybe just wishful thinking though. Finally in a location where we want to be, but the numbers aren’t making sense for us to buy anything!
There will always be a lot of disagreement about interest rates, that's just eternal. Some of the great political squabbles of the past few decades have hinged on that. It's why the Fed is an independent body, and why politicians who back themselves into corners often wind up whining about it.
