Hello folks at Uber, I’ve been approached by a recruiter for the role of a Regional Operations Manager - Eats’ Marketplace team. Wondering how this fares against the Strategy and Planning team (which I’m guessing is the most elite Strategy team at Uber). Also, should I be looking out for any other non-engineering teams within Uber that are well known for what they do?

I’ve never gotten a call back when I was initially rejected. I have gotten messages where I can update my data if I’m still interested. Kind of feels like they are more interested in my data than any job prospects I have.

Exactly. “We’ll keep your CV on file” sounds less like a promise and more like a polite way to archive me forever.
I have literally ALWAYS wondered this. Because not once when working with a recruiter have they come back to me later down the road with an opportunity. I don't think they actually keep it on file.

Right? If they actually kept it on file, they must be using a folder called “Never Opening This Again.”
I do actually reach out to some candidates that have been rejected for a position at my company. If I think their soft skills and professional capabilities align with a new role, I will continue to keep them in mind. I hired three people in the last week alone that were rejected for the first position they applied to. If you have a great attitude, come prepared for conversations, and handle the original rejection with grace, I keep you in mind for other roles.
