Cannot wait for my next vacation!

KPMGers - I have just received an amazing job offer that I’m 99.9% certain I will accept. However, I am currently in the negative for PTO (approved by PML). Will I have to pay back the negative hours upon resignation?

Is it fine to take a 1-2 week vacation shortly before potentially giving two weeks notice shortly afterwards, if I might get an offer soon? Feel like it’s fair but curious to hear what people think.

My bf took a guys trip to Caribbean to celebrate a good friend of 20+ year’s milestone bday. The friend’s bday is the day before mine. Normally bf and I trip for my bday over the holiday weekend. Bf will be back for my actual bday, and we’re taking a domestic trip next weekend. That said, I still feel a little miffed that we’re not spending this weekend together like normal. Are my feelings unreasonable?

Is it reasonable to ask for three weeks before joining a new company? I was thinking a two week notice and a week vacation to take a breath. What do you think ?

Hot take: I think a great move that banks can do to boost morale at this time would be to give teams a 3 day vacation, considering there are no deals anyways. Would love to hear the thoughts of Fishbowl on this one, especially from any MDs/execs who have the power to do this.

I hear of UX/Product designers that make 120k out of school and recruiters are throwing out numbers even greater than that. No visibility into what my coworkers are making so I’m here.

I have 8 years of design experience in addition to design education, 3 of those years are in UX/Product design. I’m making $102k, med/vis/dental, up to 6% 401k match, unlimited PTO and options worth ~10k vested in a couple years. Bonus last year was ~10%. NYC startup.

I have an offer from a company where my salary is 30% higher than my current place, and the benefits are great. I'm pretty happy with the overall package , only negative is my 4 weeks vacation will turn into 3. They've already said no to matching my 4 weeks.

I will sign with the company but I wanted some advice on how to negotiate -- if needed at all. Or maybe ideas on what else can be negotiated? They did mention the possibility of stock options later.

What’s your process like when coming up with scripts? So far in my career I’ve done mostly non-traditional work and always freak out a bit when I’m put on briefs that involve videos because of my lack of experience. How to approach salary negotiation? I was recently made redundant (UK) with 1YOE, and now have an offer in a tech firm for a strategic business analytics post. The offer is about 15% below my previous salary (which they know); I'd be keen to lift it up by a few £k to bring it up to roughly 10% below.

How should I go about asking this - given I'm unemployed I'm not sure I have much leverage, and I'm already coming it with relatively low YoE / high banding for the role.
