The older I get and the more I think about raising my own children, I keep thinking how can parents frame religious duties like fasting as something to look forward to. I think volunteering as a family can help install the value of giving back and zakaat. Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years.
