Nope, only Allah knows your future and also can change it any time
Only Allah knows what is in the future, as he is the creator, and there are no special "holy" people who know more than you or me
(this excludes prophets who received revelation but even they only knew what Allah chose to reveal to them, and according to the Quran, there are no new prophets after Muhammad peace be upon him. This is obviously one of the most fundamental beliefs in Islam)
There are widespread misconceptions in some cultures that there are certain people eg "peer"s in South Asia who are very pious and can intercede on our behalf with Allah. However this contradicts the quran and Sunnah and is more linked to cultural beliefs that exist independently of Islam. Many of those people make a tidy living trading off those claims which are not backed by any evidence.
Allah knows best, may he grant us all Iman and guidance and العافية 😀
“Backed by evidence” , sorry just sounded funny. Are the fundamental beliefs backed by evidence?
Pro
Absolutely not
Shirk
NO
Btw none of the above in any way is claiming that various cultures of muslim countries are bad in any way.. culture is totally valid in general, and most of us relate to certain cultures we were raised in and / or live among. Sometimes culture is the yardstick for rulings in Islamic law eg appropriate dress codes (within the basic limits from Quran / hadith, the rest is down to culture)
I was specifically saying that this particular cultural practice of "holy men" who know the future etc is not part of Islam ie was not revealed in Quran or Hadith , hence why I (and muslims in general) don't believe in it 😇
This also does not mean that you cannot make Dua for others or ask them to make Dua for you etc.. I'm specifically addressing the point about knowing the future
My second point above was that in matters of dunya everything in general is assumed مباح / permissible unless there is evidence from the Quran or an authentic Hadith that prohibits it.. so this means that for example uncovering the 'awrah (for men or women) is not permissible in public, due to textual proof.. however wearing blue vs pink vs green.. is something related to العُرف.. the practices of the people in a specific culture. Generally all permitted unless there is a specific reason in a particular culture not to wear color X
HOWEVER.. in matters of basic beliefs ie عقائد we don't believe anything except that which has a proof in the texts. So we know that Allah is العليم ie he knows absolutely everything and has complete and perfect knowledge of all matters before they happen. However there is no proof whatsoever that there are "holy men" or so called saints that encompass any of Allah's knowledge from the texts.. therefore this belief is rejected and whoever claims to be eg a saint and asks for money in exchange for special prayers should not be trusted at all
So the distinction between basic beliefs vs matters of the dunya is important and the one I was trying to elucidate above (btw this doesn't mean that there are no cultural practices concerning worldy affairs which are not permissible .. eg drinking alcohol, normal in most cultures around the world but well known to be disallowed in Islam due to direct proof from Quranic ayahs)
