There will always be a new/old platform to pop-up to take its place. This time around it’ll be so AI gen 🤖 dominated that peeps won’t know they’re real without disclosure. #deadinternet is here…
This isn’t like MySpace or Vine where users moved on to other things.
This is regulations that are now setting a precedent to ban access to any foreign app the govt feels like getting rid of. Any US company can bribe the governments to get rid of their competition.
It’s a slippery slope and people are mad about losing or freedoms and this being the first step into extreme censorship.
Also our industry is already in a bad spot with layoffs due to all of the mergers and AI redundancies. Now the job market will have even less jobs and more unemployed people looking to fill them.
Flip a coin. At this point, I think it's impossible to say with any degree of certainty. We'll just have to wait and see what happens on Sunday.

Let’s see them actually address the main concern of privacy and not having all that data going where it shouldn’t be. Major companies share data like it’s nothing and aren’t faced with any considerations. I believe in the underlying message, just not how it is being executed.
It could go either way at this point. I’m more interested to see how this affects other social platforms in the future.
You know prior to yesterday I would leave money on the fact that TikTok wasn’t going anywhere and then I felt foolish for a few hours when TikTok did kind of go down, but then I woke up and it was back so I’m back on the money saying that TikTok is here to stay
