Hell no my friend!!! Leave that job. You get that pay at the dollar store and they don’t even do their job right lol
Nah nah, find out how much your role actually pays, you’ll be surprised. Ask for a raise, demand your rights, if they don’t care. Leave. Be thankful for the experience that will be shown in your resume but nah, your mental/physical health is more important. We are replaceable for them, unfortunately. Choose you, always. Blessings.
According to google and people I know who’ve worked/ currently work as a warehouse manager, $15-$20 is common pay. I asked my Co-worker today about it and he said we’re only given one raise. If I am capped at $12, I’m most Likely going to leave. Unfortunately, finding a replacement job in my area is difficult.
Rising Star
Wow, that sounds like a lot of responsibility for $12/hr! I’d definitely start by documenting all the extra tasks you handle and then ask for a raise based on that. If they don’t budge, it might be worth looking at other opportunities that pay more fairly for your experience and workload.
hopefully I can do something about it soon.
I have been a hairstylist for over 35 years and i make $14 an hour plus my tips. Suck it up. Most everybody these days is underpaid except the big corporations and their executives.
Amen sister! Don’t settle for less than you are worth. Taco Bell pays $14 starting out so there ARE jobs out there. Have you thought about remote roles as in from home? If you haven’t already, set yourself up on LinkedIn and get a profile. It’ll open your eyes to “a whole new world (singing in the background.) hehehe. GO FOR IT because if you don’t you will regret it later my friend. Best of luck and don’t forget that LinkedIn profile. And make sure you upload a resume. 😉🙏🏼♥️
One more thing I forgot from my previous reply down below somewhere. Oh yeah, the hairstylist comment. 🙄 If you decide to go to your manager, your mom’s friend I hope, just explain and be honest. No matter how bad you think it might sound, just be honest. Tell the mgr that you are struggling and need more. Tell them you are willing to work more if they’ll put you on a decent salary, not hourly, as a warehouse manager. Again, best of luck! ☘️ 🤞🏼
Asking would be my first step.
Where are you located… what state? The key word manager usually means salary not hourly
I’ve been at my current job for two years and I’m only making $10.50 an hour. So you can look around but $12 an hour it might be the industry standard for where you’re at. But nothing says you can’t be looking for another job while you’re currently employed.
I believe you should look for a better paying job. I know you been loyal to your company for a year but if they are not paying enough it’s time to leave. There are better paying jobs in the warehouse industry that you get now that you have some experience.
Any recommendations of where I can began looking? I tried “Indeed” but really see any good warehouse job offers in my area.
I’m sure you can find another company that will pay you what you’re work don’t settle
Finding a sustainable and good paying job in my area is quite difficult if I’m being honest. I only got this job because one of my mom’s friends are close with the manager.
