Sometimes being in finance, I feel like people automatically assume I have all my personal finances together. I definitely feel like a hypocrite not having everything in order, but I’m out here doing my best. Anyone else relate?

It's like assuming a doctor never eats sugar or has too much to drink on occasion. In some ways, those of us who spend our time around other people's finances all day have the hardest time managing our own. I think it's kind of human nature, I definitely relate.

Do as I say, not as I do! Having an understanding and putting it into practice are two different things. I think it makes it more relatable, though, we all come from different paths.

I am doing the best I can, even if it's not always perfect, and there's nothing wrong with that. I was a personal trainer throughout university and I put on over 20 pounds during that time that I really struggled to lose. Having all the tools and the knowledge in the world doesn't completely remove all the barriers.

Ha this is so relatable. I feel like a bit of a fraud. I've got an emergency fund and a decent amount in my investment accounts, but I still feel like I'm so far behind where I should be.

I agree with you there, but it’s not an issue at all! It’s hard to apply work life to personal life. My life coach says he never takes on the advice he gives people but knows he should, it’s a similar thing

I totally get that! Working in finance does come with those expectations, but honestly, none of us have it all perfectly figured out. It’s great that you’re doing your best and that’s what really counts.

Repost - The % of the African American population killed by police in 2019 is roughly 0.0005%. It was 235 people. But around the same year 6,000 african americans were killed by eachother. How do we reconcile these facts? In 2013, 72% of african americans were born to single parent households; one of the strongest indicators of future poverty and criminal disposition. Can we acknowledge and fix instances of police brutality while also not ignoring our cultural problems as well?
