I found that a lot of times it differs based on department. Not sure where you're looking, but there can definitely be some accurate red flags. Just look at it as a risk/reward. If its a good opportunity for professional growth it may be worth it for a temporary WLB hit
I’d take Glassdoor reviews as one piece of the puzzle. They can reflect real issues, but they’re often written by people who had strong negative experiences. I’d suggest connecting with current employees on LinkedIn to get a more balanced picture before ruling out those roles.
Reviews are such a gray area. As you read through them, are there other patterns beyond management and WLB concerns? What pros do they list? Is the language style similar? I know we had one person leave my firm that left a few strongly worded reviews of my firm, and you could tell they were all him. Reading them was actually kind of funny because he didn't understand how the industry/firm was structured and was bagging on that a lot. Don't trust everything blindly, find reports from other sources, talk with others at the company, specifically the departments you are interested in, and hear their experience to vet it better for yourself.
