you get paid for extra activities? I have had tons of extra duties and never got a dime, or recognition. So I guess interacting with families would be it for me.

We have some teachers who do not do anything except for bus and after-school dismissal
You get extra pay for doing this. This is just part of our job we’re expected to do we just get randomly assigned to things unless you are like the head of a club or your coach but yeah, whether I like it or not I do it.

I guess we are fortunate, and we have an excellent athletic director who does such a great job in having funds. Of course, we do charge for admission to games and have concessions.
I don't do any extra duty like covering when a teacher is out because I'm not compensated for it. However, I'm not in the same building 5 days a week so it's not an option for me as paid extra duty. My sister, who works in a different district at the HS, is compensated when she covers another teacher's class during her planning period. It's the equivalent of working a part-time job for her but during her normal working hours. She just gives up that planning time. She uses that money for travel and paying debts.
Extra pay for extra curricular activities? That’s a good one! Not at the elementary level!

I guess we are just lucky. The only thing we don't get compensation for is after school supervision during dismissal, staff meetings, or PD
