Seems that the vaccine that usually takes more than 10 years to develop, test for side effects and go through the regulation process is being very fast tracked to roll out - which is a super great thing to potentially eradicate the virus. on the other side of the spectrum, people with life sciences n healthcare insights, how reliable and safe would you say vaccine (being fast tracked) is...?

Genuine question: does any consulting firm in Canada have a life sciences practice? Or is it mostly public health practice? What kind of projects do you do for life sciences clients? Thanks!

Am I correct in my understanding that:

Over a certain income ($76k as of 2021), a single person CANNOT make tax-free contributions to a traditional IRA if you have a workplace retirement plan?

In my example, I have a work 401k, and my adjusted gross income is over (or just about hovering) at the 76k limit. This means I can't make pre-tax contributions to a traditional IRA, so I should just go for a Roth?

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under).
