I’m in Atlanta 🍑 near the Battery! I am a recovering litigator👨🏻‍⚖️ and one of my favorite things about estate planning is the collegial atmosphere when networking with other EP lawyers!

Living in Tucson, Arizona. Inactive license in Missouri. My practice is as a consultant to lawyers on complexities that are somewhat beyond their reach. I am both a tax nerd and a future interests nerd. In other words "my favorite thing" about the practice is puzzling through the underlying tax law and property law policies.

I am co-owner with my mom on two properties. After I have been sued, opposing side is requesting my properties info. Can I take my name off quickly -quitclaim deed? And for the future, would it be smarter to buy properties with LLC?

Does anyone have advice on how to break into the field as a new graduate? I am completing a masters degree in Trust and Wealth Management. I want to work with complex and sophisticated trusts, transfer taxes, family limited partnerships. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone! My name is Nneka and I am a Real Estate Closing Attorney. I'm looking into transitioning into Estate Planning. Any advice or reccomendations on how to get started or resources to review? Any advice is appreciated!

My late grandmother’s house was willed that it be sold and 1/2 would go to my dad and 1/2 split between my aunts. My aunt is executrix. House was sold in 2019 and my aunt claims proceeds haven’t been divided because she is still paying taxes from the sale. Is she lying and trying to wait as long as she can to pay out the funds? What’s her long game? Anything we can do?

I’m a new associate to a T&E group, partner goes away on vacation and leaves me with a 706 to review and sign. The family is very wealthy. Decedent married for 60 years. Partner says it’s “just a DSUE election, decedent was ill for years, no assets.” Provides no records. Not even an admission the decedent owned a toothbrush. So I looked up the decedent’s home - it’s a joint asset. Partner was “surprised”, and still insists “no other assets”. I found file references to art and antiques.
