Is it mad to be considering new jobs that pay less than what I'm on currently? I'm in a fairly senior role at a business which is undergoing an M&A / future IPO but being honest our team is vastly under resourced and the stress of covering what is essentially 3 senior roles in one, plus all the day to day stuff (as we have no juniors to delegate too) is burning me out and really affecting my mental health. I've tried raising it but don't feel anything will change soon unfortunately.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Hello! After being in a toxic environment for the past 6 months I submitted my resignation and set my last day for 3/31. My current boss is very vindictive and instead of honoring my two weeks, she terminated my access to all the systems today. I’m worried that I won’t get paid for my full two weeks. I’m a 2nd year tax manager. I’m one who’s all about building relationships, helping clients solve problems and selling gets me super jacked. I’m outgoing and pretty average technically. I’ve been in PA for 7 years and hate busy season. It’s not as bad anymore and I do have great flexibility but I drag through it and burn out twice a year. I gave up snowmobiling, hockey and skiing for my job, all of which were my favorite things to do in life. I can’t help but be desperate to get out because of this. The thing about it is i have the flexibility to do the work when I want. Can’t decide if I’m just being a downer about it or if this is valid.

Should I go for an MBA? I'm a Software engineer and I'm good at it. I'm 28yo and currently make 500k/yr. I believe I'm talented enough to reach a director level and make 1-2M per year. The problem is that I find the work kinda boring - I don't like dealing with low level details. Being a mid level manager is not inspiring. Don't know what to do with my career. I had a job before going back to grad school as front line manufacturing process engineer, but now I want more a research/characterization R&D type job. I’m currently a quality control analyst in the biopharma/gene therapy field making 72k base in the Houston area. I’ve been working here for 2 years and my company is well established and the job is easy, but I honestly just want higher pay. I see companies (smaller and larger) that potentially can give me that but would it be worth it? I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?
