I am co-owner with my mom on two properties. After I have been sued, opposing side is requesting my properties info. Can I take my name off quickly -quitclaim deed? And for the future, would it be smarter to buy properties with LLC?

I would not transfer the property now that you have been sued as it could be considered a fraudulent conveyance with the intent to defraud a creditor. Yes as to the LLC in the future.

Agree with Attorney 1. You might be triggering the need to file a gift tax return as this would likely be considered a gift to your mother. Amounts in excess of the current gift tax annual exclusion from one person to another ($16,000) in any given year require the filing of a federal gift tax return (Form 709).

For the past 2-3 years, I have obsessively tracked my net worth/income trends/investment performance over time. I checked my trends just now, and OMG I hit the 300k net worth mark right around Christmas. I guess I haven’t looked at my dashboard for a month. This feels so cool. I want to shout it from the roof! I can’t really brag about this to my friends, so I’m sharing here! 🎉 🎉

I'm a young professional finishing my first year of my career. Last month I opened a brokerage account & invested $4000 in the stock market. I'm planning to invest at at least $2000/month every month now with the goal of creating a passive income stream. Do any of you have experience with a dividend growth strategy? How did you get started?

Feeling grateful & proud as I reached my goal ($50K by 25) 5 months early. But I can’t help feeling a bit overwhelmed. In the lifelong scheme of things, $50K doesn’t seem like much. I worked really hard and sacrificed a lot (including mental health) to get to this but it seems a little tiring knowing I still have so long to go. I recently moved out and in with my BF so my expenses are split, but nonetheless they are still expenses. Any tips on continuing this journey and keeping the drive?

My late grandmother’s house was willed that it be sold and 1/2 would go to my dad and 1/2 split between my aunts. My aunt is executrix. House was sold in 2019 and my aunt claims proceeds haven’t been divided because she is still paying taxes from the sale. Is she lying and trying to wait as long as she can to pay out the funds? What’s her long game? Anything we can do?

I’m a new associate to a T&E group, partner goes away on vacation and leaves me with a 706 to review and sign. The family is very wealthy. Decedent married for 60 years. Partner says it’s “just a DSUE election, decedent was ill for years, no assets.” Provides no records. Not even an admission the decedent owned a toothbrush. So I looked up the decedent’s home - it’s a joint asset. Partner was “surprised”, and still insists “no other assets”. I found file references to art and antiques.
