The George Dickel distillery tour in Tennessee was probably my favorite. They still do every step of the process by hand, just like they did 100 years ago. They even burn their own wood to create the charcoal for filtering. It was really cool to see.

Makers Mark has a lot of history and was a great tour. If you want to see a modern operation, Bardstown is neat. Willet has a great bar and flights.

Depends on what area you’re in but Starlight Distillery is very underrated. Fort Nelson, Peerless, Angels Envy, and Stilzel Weller are all near one another and great as well. Not yet visited but highly acclaimed Wild Turkey and Castle and Key.
