What are some immediate roles Administrative Fellows in your organization or that you may know of are getting post fellowship? My fellowship is ending in about 6 months and we are being advised to start looking for other roles. I have several years of management experience, and wanted to read your insights. Thanks!

It depends on your preceptor too. Based on my interest and who would be the best mentors for me moving forward I was given the option of 3 roles- project management, manager of the administrative team and patient experience leader. I chose the patient experience leader role and also chose to continue working on one of my fellowship projects which is related to operations.
One of my co-fellows was interested in finance and got the role of a financial and strategy analyst.
I would suggest having an honest conversation with your preceptor about your strength and interests.

Thank you for your feedback

In healthcare, the completion of the administrative fellowship is usually the fast track to roles such as Project management or business operations.

Good luck

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

I am only 4 months into being a surgical coordinator. I love the position itself however I am struggling to adapt into my new work environment. My position puts me in a place where I need to interact with my new coworkers but they are not as welcoming as I expected. There is also another surgical coordinator however I have come to find from other staff that there is a long history of her running other staff away and not fully training other surgical coordinator staff properly. Any suggestions?

I have a new employee that started last Monday, unfortunately it’s not going to work out. Long story, but we’re fairly certain the individual is using Meth and appears to have started/restarted fairly recently. I work with physicians, so it’s a consensus. Hello, I need your advice. I am currently in management in primary care. I have a strong management background in specialty hospital practice management. Recently some leadership positions have become available and I feel as if my leader has discouraged me from applying. His take is that I should take certain steps before applying, however I have the experience from my previous employment in this leadership role. Would I be overstepping to apply anyways ?
