In Texas & my CPA CPE hrs are due this month. The corona virus has really impacted my work/plan to finish them and I’m worried I won’t get them done. Anyone know anything about possible extensions?

Way to wait till the last minute!

funny

Yeah I knew this was going to come up 😫🤦🏻‍♂️ I knew I should have just gotten them done by year end but no excuse - i just didn’t. I have most of the hours done...but I do have some left but they are frankly bottom of my priority list at the moment with tax season/returns and the current markets. Did I mention I also have a baby due April 3rd?! 🤔 As you can see from my title I’m also a financial planner and so I expected to have taxes and CPE on my to-do list this month but not market crash and calling our entire client base.

I believe that next year my wife will be in charge of the taxes so I can focus on the financial side of the business 🤗

The TSBPA website says “Extensions of time to complete CPE will be addressed via email inquiries at licensing@tsbpa.gov.”

Thank you! Yeah I called them and they said it’s fine til the end of April but I kinda would like something in writing 😬 so I will probably e-mail them.

Question: can an employer legally withhold your personal possessions after you leave the firm? I left my old firm recently and they were not happy about me joining another consultancy. They are withholding any belongings that I left in the office and have ignored my emails asking to arrange a pick up or delivery of my personal items. I understand the covid19 environment impacts the situation, but anything I can do to get my stuff back? Any help would be appreciated. I’m based in NYC!

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Any similar experience to share?

When covid first hit, I was delighted to be working from home. My hours even improved. Now, because of some triggering events, I’m dealing with horrible panic attacks on the daily. I’m dissociating and can’t focus long enough to get work done. I JUST hit a year at this firm and am going on a one month stress leave. Worried I might not kick this mental state in that time. Any advice as to what I can do while on leave so I can come back focused and ready to work?

Generally happy with the cases I’m working on at my current firm and I love the other attorneys I work with and partners I work for (for the most part). Compensation would be the same. Mostly considering the move because things are so disorganized at my current firm and I end up pulling a ton of unnecessary all nighters, and I have virtually no administrative support.

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?
