Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

S& is part of PwC and is more focused on business strategy and has higher billing rates and employee compensation. S& consultants, like MBB / other T2 consultants, don't only do strategy work, but they are more likely to be on strategy engagements than other PwC consultants. S& engagements typically have a very clear impact on the bottom line through revenue growth or cost reduction.
PwC consultants (non-S&) span numerous domains and industries and include tech consultants who aren't advising on the business side at all.
There is definitely overlap in the type of work being done, and consultants from both groups could be on the same team on an engagement.
Appreciate your very thoughtful perspective.
Considerably higher pay and better exit opportunities with S&. It’s like deciding between a strategy house or a tech/system integrator, like Bain vs Accenture (I know Accenture does some strategy now, but you get the point).
About 50-75% more depending on country.
Which country
Consulting = Advisory.
The difference depends on industry, but S& is generally faster paced, shorter projects. The culture is more direct snd performance is up-or-out.
