A mixture of both for sure. Getting to know who's interviewing you is important, and they may give insight to how the rest of the team operates. Them getting to know you is important too, not just the business side. Them knowing what drives you (in a non-toxic way) could be beneficial for efficiency and trust.

Indeed! I’ve had both, which is why I was curious to ask. I had an interviewer ask my interests outside of work and I said traveling and they asked me where I had travelled to and expounded with other personal questions. I was thinking there’s gotta be a reason for this questioning 😆
