Because nobody cares about you gpa, especially once you’ve been out of school for a few years. I’d rather hire someone who can show impact of what they’ve done recently that’s applicable to the job even if they don’t have a college degree than someone with a high gpa.
I don’t think it will hurt you, but don’t expect it to really be a differentiator once you’re beyond campus hiring.

I get that, I’m saying all else equal, how would it hurt you? Showing impact of what you’ve recently done / how it’s applicable to the job is a given / non-starter.
That .2 short of 4.0 might make or break you here. I’d consider dropping it.
In all honesty, I think keeping it on there can only help your case.
Doesn’t hurt. Is a positive in a limited amount of scenarios where people actually care about academic performance.
If you got a higher honors because of your high gpa, I’d put that in and leave off the gpa itself. The expectation is that the work ex is going to be more of a differentiator after 4 years out of school. I get the hypothetical “all else equal” qns but if it’s really that close, I’m more likely to hire the person I connected with better during the interview than whoever had a higher undergrad gpa. At that point, if you come across a hiring manager who thinks “it’s silly” to have your gpa on there after so long- that’s how it can hurt you. I don’t see much upside.

After now many years should you stop putting your GPA on?
