Hi boys & girls!

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Any advice welcome!

What’s a big4 firm?

Biglaw is like being at Deloitte

Big law firms and the big 4 are two different universes. AmLaw attorneys don’t have time to eat breakfast nevermind network.

Depends, I went from Big4 doing m&a tax (mostly deal work) to a firm and I honestly do the exact same thing. But again, I was in tax and structuring and doing deal work in a Big4 practice that was exclusively attorneys. So I guess it just depends.

Can some experienced product manager guide me and PPL like me here on this fish bowl a step by step plan to achieve this goal. What courses we can join, what books to read

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career

So I worked from home yesterday and my husband had a sneak peak on my meetings with clients (which I’m very new to being a senior). I believe improving one’s sales conversion rate is something everyone want to improve but no one wants to admit they would like to work it. Funny how lawyers will spend thousands on seminars to improve trial skills. But this topic is not discussed in our profession. I have read books in sales. But am unable to find any for lawyers. I want convert every lead I can. Does anyone have tips, books, cle’s or studied this topic?
