What’s one thing you’ve learned recently that has changed your perspective? For me, it’s to never get used to something (a paycheck, roof over your head, having a certain someone around) because things can change in the blink of an eye…stay alert and always have a couple extra dollars saved up, your resume up to date and polished, and never refrain from telling your loved ones how much they mean to you

Those are very good points. Something I learned five years ago with the pandemic's arrival was that things can go upside down very quickly. I think a lot of us in the US are kind of insulated in our modern world, and we don't really expect bad things to happen. But they can, and they can arrive with very little warning. I learned to build up my emergency fund, and also learned just not to take things for granted. And to be thankful for little comforts.

I love this! I’ve lived my whole life like this.

So very true. For good and bad! Appreciate the things you have and make sure to be adaptable enough to figure it out when they do eventually change. I have a really hard time when things are going how they usually go, something I’ve worked a lot on, just letting the stress of it go and telling myself I can and will figure it out when the time comes.

Well, that’s so recently, but I had to learn this exact hard to learn lesson in 2021 so I have learned that no matter how important I feel at a job or how valuable I’m constantly being told. I am at a position that one day I could wake up without a job And replaced by somebody cheaper so now I’ve been on my toes and I’ve never felt comfortable in a position since that day

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. What do I do?

Perspective: monogamy is anti-human nature; in this era where each parent could raise a kid independently, marriage tends to be a shackle on many aspects of life. We live once, why does society expect us to live with 1 person for 60+ years? No wonder divorce rates are through the roof!

Hi there! I interview for a position with a planned Parenthood this week for a role as Special Events Manager to oversee their fundraising department.
