You’re doing more than most already. The next step isn’t extreme, it’s targeted. Tailor the resume hard, follow up consistently, and focus on fewer roles. Desperation energy burns time without results.
I took an overnight cleaning job out of desperation just to get some money coming in. It was one of the lower points of my life. Existed like a complete zombie for 5-6 months until I was able to find something during normal hours. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, I know how stressful unemployment is. Just hang in there and keep applying.
You’ve already gone further than most by walking into stores and talking to managers, so your hustle isn’t the issue. Next level: target a short list of brands, build relationships with specific managers, follow up consistently, and consider a short‑term or part‑time role (even in a less‑ideal store) just to get back in the game and then transfer.

That’s exhausting, and I get the frustration. Sometimes persistence alone isn’t enough, you might need to tweak your approach: networking, reaching out to people directly on LinkedIn, or tailoring your applications even more closely to each role. It’s not about trying harder, it’s about trying differently. Have you explored those angles yet?
