Let's just say that I would never admit to such a thing. But there have been times when I may or may not have inadvertently added a hidden surcharge for people having been unspeakable jerks. You make a good point though, maybe it should be out in the open. If you can sue for emotional distress, you should be able to charge for it.
No, though I see how that could be tempting. But for me, I'm just trying to keep the clients that I have and keep them happy. I see so many of my colleagues losing their jobs, I don't want to piss off the people that are actually willing to pay me for my work right now.
I was going to say yes, but I stopped to think about my own previous job experiences. In every single one of them, I had these moments of distress, because they happen in any line of work (as much as you love your job). Not everything is the company's fault; we're all just humans, and that's okay.
There are times when I’m burnt out when a task that would normally take me 30 minutes takes me 3 hours. If I was given a manageable workload then I would be more efficient. If I’m given turnaround times that are unrealistic or am under constant pressure then yeah my work is going to suffer and that will show up in my timesheets. That’s not me being dishonest or trying to game the system it’s basic physiological and psychological outcomes.
Not a junior anymore but can’t figure out how to leave this bowl and yall are fun. But uhhh I filed an expense for my Botox as a bit (I don’t suggest doing that if you work for a holding company.) Under expense notes I put that it made me more facially appropriate to clients since I couldn’t scowl at their feedback.
