Whose soul has been sucked dry over the last several weeks? My commute is killing me. Three hours on the road/day is wearing on me. I don't see my family, the workload is through the roof, too young to retire, we need the pay, rhe market is right (applying/interviewing/getting ghosted/working with a recruiter). I don't see an end in sight. My spouse is also an attorney and a fed, so we are both looking. I try to keep my spirits up but have very little energy.

Yeah that's rough, but at least you still have a job. It could always be worse. Just keep applying for roles and eventually something will work out.

I’m not doing well. My commute is only 40 minutes each way, but we only had to come in once a week before this so it’s a rough transition. The metro is packed and I’ve already gotten sick twice in the last month since this all started. I used to only get sick once a year. On top of this, I’m probationary for another 17 months so the constant worry of getting fired is also wearing me down.

I was recently approached by a recruiter about a position as a litigation attorney at the DOJ. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any more specific information other than what I would be doing is “generally commercial litigation.” Can anyone share insights on what this may entail?
