Yep it's always the way. What I've learnt is to take the initiative just try to learn absolutely everything you can from anyone you can. Youl still get the blame for the odd things if the situation comes but atleast you probably know how to do 10 people's job with the knowledge.
totally agree....then say your lying when you say I was never trained to do xyz...
I had a manager at McDonald's who tried 2 get me 2 do fries but I was never showed how he had 2 put someone else on it then the next day he talked 2 the only other manger who didnt know I wasnt trained on half the stuff they spent a month showing me everything personally I was a super star when they were done

If you are stepping into a position that is a big departure from what you are already doing, you should get formal training. A lot of the time, if you are just getting a bump up, a brief training is what you get to supplement what you already know. In any case, you should receive training on the things you don’t know and if you don’t, ask….
