I'm right at 45 minutes following our RTO move last year, and I'm hating every minute of it. I only have so much spare time during the week, spending 7.5 hours of it driving to an office so I can sit in Zoom meetings all day feels ridiculous and unnecessary. If I can find something remote, or even just 15 minutes closer, I'm out of here.
Rising Star
Totally get that—spending all that time commuting just to sit on Zoom calls feels so pointless. I'm in a similar situation. Strangely, people seem to schedule all the meetings on the days we're actually in the office (I'm on a hybrid schedule).
i just moved from a 1.5 hour commute to just 30 minutes door to door. i would say 2.5 hours would be my max distance but im definitely loving all the extra time on my hands from my shortened commute

That’s a huge upgrade—30 minutes sounds amazing! I’m guessing that’s one way? It’s incredible how much of a difference a shorter commute can make in your day. A 2.5-hour commute would be brutal for me!
Right now I’m just under an hour. Planning baby #2 and will be searching for something new after my maternity leave is over (if things go well 🤞🏼), either remote / true hybrid / or much closer to home.
Rising Star
That sounds like a solid plan and fingers crossed everything goes smoothly with baby #2! Having something closer or more flexible will make a huge difference with two little ones!
40-75 minutes (I split time between 2 offices). My limit is 45 minutes. The days when I go to another office and spend 75 minutes one-way are very unproductive.
Rising Star
That’s a LONG haul—totally get why those 75-minute days feel unproductive. Splitting between two offices must be tough, especially with such a clear limit in mind.
1.5-2 hrs each way 😭

Wow, 3–4 hours of commuting every day? That sounds exhausting! Do you have to go into the office daily? I really hope not!
