Yes, please! A daily outdoor break could make every day feel a little lighter.

It would be great for students, too. Our kids like to go outside and just sit at the picnic tables and do their work.
Completely agree! I service 2nd-5th right now and the only one of those grades to have a consistent recess is 2nd. 3rd and up general education teachers simply do not have time in the to get through the curriculum and have recess. Everyone knows why the behaviors are so crazy but we also know that our school bombed state tests last year and there’s a lot of pressure being put on everyone to increase them.

I just wonder if students had a bit more consistent, structured play time, if they would do better in class
I have recess 3x a day and it is awesome. We also have a courtyard where staff can eat lunch outside. It is a sanity saver!

I like the idea of having a place outside where staff can go to eat.

I totally agree. I used to hate being outside. The last two years have createdd a love for the outdoors in me!
I would love a one hour break. But it's hard to schedule things like this when we have one on ones who need staff present at all times.
