Wouldn't it be great if teachers could get a one-hour recess every day? I miss teaching elementary school because it gave me a chance to get some fresh air with my students.

Completely agree! I service 2nd-5th right now and the only one of those grades to have a consistent recess is 2nd. 3rd and up general education teachers simply do not have time in the to get through the curriculum and have recess. Everyone knows why the behaviors are so crazy but we also know that our school bombed state tests last year and there’s a lot of pressure being put on everyone to increase them.

I have recess 3x a day and it is awesome. We also have a courtyard where staff can eat lunch outside. It is a sanity saver!
