I just gut it out. Burnout is kind of my default state right now, both from work and from life in general. I'm exhausted, but I can't NOT work, so I just chug coffee and try to will myself through each shift.

I’ve been there before and I know a lot of people that have been there as well. When you are in work mode, you can be deep in it and noticed months later that you are physically burnout. It all hits on a physical level before mentally.
In most cases I've just plowed through heavy workloads, and I've come to accept them as something that will happen from time to time. However, there have been times when I've gone to a manager and I've gotten things adjusted. Everyone has a limit and there are only so many hours in the day, so if you're being overstressed you may need to ask for some changes to be made.

Yes, I feel like we all go thought this workload phase where we clocked in mental but physical our bodies slow feel the burnouts. I need to speak up more and ask for less workload.

It's hard. It's always been hard, and recent events haven't made anything easier.
If I take a vacation and travel and try to have fun, I come back needing an additional vacation before going back to work.
Europeans famously get months off where we get weeks. Working so much can definitely lead to burn out.
Plus much of retail makes it impossible to have two days a week off. I find that if I have two days off, I need a day to recover from the week, and a day to get everything I need taken care of. And there still isn't enough time.
One day a week means you basically take that day to recover, and get nothing done.
I wish I had an easy, ready answer for you. Or for myself, for that matter.
This is spot-on. As a nation we are so burnt out. I ended taking off an extra day this week mid-week because I really need it. Unpaid of course....

Totally get this. Six months without a break? No wonder you’re burnt out. You deserve a proper vacation, your sanity will thank you!
