How hard/easy is it to move into Roche from one of its independent subsidiaries. Do they give you preference at all or treat you like an external hire?

I’ve heard Merck does not offer decent annual raises. Can someone elaborate? Is it standard cost of living (3%), performance based? Is there a range?
