I've been noticing a huge shift in my interests... I'm going from wanting designer wear or bags to fine jewelry. Have any of you noticed such a shift in your late 30s? I've been shopping around for options but modern designs just seem so forgettable. Where can I look for vintage pieces? Or, better yet, do you have any contacts for jewelry makers with whom I can commission my own pieces?

What's your go-to hairstyle at work? I keep messing around with it and am never happy with it. All my colleagues look on-point and I keep thinking it's because they're just blessed with good hair, but really, they do put in the work. Would love some suggestions - for reference, my hair is curly (super frizzy), shoulder-length.

I've been really interested in exploring ways to integrate philanthropy into wealth management plans effectively. Which of these do you generally lean towards when you suggest philanthropy-oriented plans for your clients? It would be a totally new experience for me to recommend such plans, so do let me know of any tips/advice you have in this regard.

I'm guilty of not being very focused on my breakfast meals and just running to the office. I really want to change that this year and thought I'd fish for some quick/nutritious breakfast ideas from the bowl. I'm assuming most of us have lives of many responsibilities and some of us (but most definitely not me) have figured out a way to power pack the start of the day with a nutritious meal... How do you balance risk and reward when working with clients who are more conservative but still want to see growth in their portfolios? For example, when clients who are risk-averse and prioritize preserving capital but also desire a reasonable return on investment, what strategies do you implement to ensure both goals are met? I would even love if you shared what kind of words you say to put them more at ease. "What if I told we can have both?' is a fun way to put it? :D

Do you have clients who find it hard to trust your plans for them? In my career of 10 years, I've had to deal with several hindrances but it has never been that the client second-guesses our approach when it comes to long-term financial strategies or more complex investment options. How do you build trust with clients who may have experienced financial setbacks in the past or are naturally skeptical about certain strategies?

My client seems to be very interested in being friends with me, or at least that's what I'm getting. She often invites me for lunch or to go check out a workshop and other things that don't seem inappropriate, but seem very much like she's trying to find a friend in me. How do you turn down such requests without worrying that it would affect our professional relationship? She's a client I don't want to lose, but I'm also not trying to be her pal! Ever been in this situation? How did you manage?

What is your current favorite skincare brand and what's your routine like? There are probably other bowls to discuss this on but I'd like to hear from my folks in WM who probably have the same hectic schedule and lean towards a more simple skincare regime. I'm considering dropping all my previous products and switching over entirely to Paula's choice. Any PC fans here who want to encourage my decision? :P

Does your company give out New Year's gifts to clients? Occasionally we distribute company-branded items like calendars or notebooks as gifts, which are given equally to all clients, but in general, we have strict policies regarding gift-giving to ensure compliance with industry regulations and to maintain the integrity of our client relationships. What's it like in your firm? What about people working solo - do you indulge in gifting for your clients?

I was reading this article about the 'soft girl era'. It's most famously practiced in Sweden and involves women not wanting to go higher up on the corporate ladder or even quitting their jobs to be stay-at-home girlfriends or wives in order to live a 'softer life'. Have any of you had luck finding a job with the help of a recruiter? Somehow, every time I reach out to recruiters, they sound very promising and interested but then I hear nothing back for weeks. And when I follow up, I either don't hear back or they say they're still looking but really, I don't know if they are.
