I was reading this article about the 'soft girl era'. It's most famously practiced in Sweden and involves women not wanting to go higher up on the corporate ladder or even quitting their jobs to be stay-at-home girlfriends or wives in order to live a 'softer life'. Sounds super nice but in America, those bills need to get paid :D. Would you adopt this mentality of living? What would be the ideal condition for you to say yes to the soft life?

Married to a man who raised kids as a single dad and did lots of good things. He’s now retired and his hostility is killing me. Has anyone ever been in a mostly platonic relationship? I don’t like to label myself much, but I don’t really like intimacy and don’t really like romance. Some people would say I’m asexual/aromantic, but unless that too is a spectrum, I don’t think I fit squarely into that group. As I get older, I’m realizing I’m feeling very lonely. Curiosity question - I’m a naturally very chatty senior and I’ve noticed that the staff 1s who are starting remotely and living at their parents’ home (which makes a ton of sense with the remote working) that I’ve been working with seem to want to chat about both semi related work stuff and non work stuff a fair amount. If you’re a staff living at home, do you enjoy having seniors who will chat with you about random things or would you rather just get your work done and log off?

Anyone here adopt a puppy during the infertility struggle? Husband and I considering it to have something positive throughout this situation and thinking the extra companionship would be helpful. I work from home. Husband has had many family dogs and lots of experience with it, I’ve had a family cat before.
