Post MBA - MBB vs FAANG product management role vs Startup Biz Opps role vs IB (2 year Associate) for getting into Venture Capital?
Brainstorming on ways to increase connectivity among teams despite the 100% remote environment we find ourselves in at the moment (virtual HH seem to be getting old). Any ideas and/or things you have implemented at your company?
Hi Accountant 🐠! My friend just received settlement. She is trying to figure out what to do with it. Someone told to open a trust to avoid taxes and impact on her potential benefits <contd>
Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?
I feel sad day in and day out for the past week. Not really affecting client work but def affects firm initiatives (Deloitte). Who else feels the same?

This is my first agency in the US and I have noticed that account is excluded from a lot of the production process - i.e. we see the selections during client reviews (talent, locations, wardrobe). Is this common practice in the US or is it just the agency I work at. While working abroad account team was very involved and part of the decision making even playing hybrid project/producer role so am really disappointed with the current style.
Has anyone known anyone or thought about moving into restructuring and turnaround consulting? (e.g. firms like A&M, Alix, FTI, etc.) I’ve been in FDD for a couple years but getting bored of it. How do comp, hours, lifestyle compare? I know there is more travel involved once things get back to normal but honestly sounds great after working from home for last 6 months.
My partner and I (both women) got a job offer from our old Managing Director who started a new agency. Their biggest problem: A lack of women. They even told us that they “really need to hire female creatives”. How would you feel about this? How can we make sure they really want us for our talent?
