People are less nosy in US about your personal life/issues.
In India, More comraderie at the lower level compared to US but also more political at the middle management levels.
Desis are emotional and take feedback personally. It’s hard for them to draw a line between personal and professional. For e.g. if I push back during a meeting it’s a work agenda not that I hate you 😂
India - no one cares about your work life balance , worse than McK , salary is low, time that takes to commute to work and home is way tooo high which in turn kills your entire day, most of the time there is no saying “no” as an answer to your boss, highly hierarchical.
US - boundaries are bit more defined though not well defined like Europe, quality of life gets way better In terms of work to home commute and there is time for self and family, salary higher, opportunities are plenty compared to most parts of the world , there is a strong sense of “ if I try hard I can achieve “ feeling
Meaning they consider personal time important - in terms of vacation time, paternity/maternity holidays etc . Over all they have a better happiness index compared to US .

No difference, desis who came to US in 2000s are occupying managerial roles and in general are weak technically making everyone’s life miserable. This is gonna rattle a lot of people in this bowl 😂 wait and see

I have encountered top notch desi technology mgrs , they were able to think out of the box and deliver. Also encountered subpar folks. Depends on the company as well, Talent in consulting is like coin toss.
Top 20 tech companies have great desi managers and they are just top notch. You need to check out more what’s happening.
OP - read the book The culture Map. You will get lots of answer!

I can call my ceo by his first name.
Sc - if you have family in India then you may have good time spending time with them. I worked for 6 years in US moved for good to India and came back to US in 1 year because the work culture and the over all work-life eco system is messed up. It’s sucks up all the energy from you. See if you have other alternatives , and let Indian be your last bet
Consulting is not a great option while you are in India.

Thanks all, this is helpful! I am just thinking about what I should do if my visa doesn’t work out here and was considering moving back to India if the work culture is more or less similar
I would look at this decision a bit more broadly than just “work culture” there are a lot more elements to living in a country.
