A job I interviewed for I cried over when I didn’t get it because it was 9 rounds of interviews - one of the panelists reached out and she was laid off recently but wanted to let me know she was the 1 vote for why I didn’t get it but it was because she didn’t want to subject another woman of color to their racist manager.

I’m SHOCKED. I’m so glad she saved me because I would’ve been laid off but whew!

9 rounds?!?! Why? How do they justify that amount of expense and time waste to themselves? Then expect the same of a candidate? I have never heard of anything close to that before. Glad that panelist saved you from the company. Hopefully she'll keep you in mind for the future at another company.
